ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Hello, I’m Serena

I am a counsellor and group facilitator, and by ADHD design, a fast thinker who has had to learn to slow down on purpose. Anima Serena, serene spirit in Italian, is the practice I made for the people I most love sitting with: the sensitive, the neurodivergent, the reflective, and the quietly weary.

I'm drawn to holding space for people who feel stuck, burnt out, overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are right now. Neurodivergent people are often so quick, so sharp, so used to analysing our own thoughts and behaviour, that we lose touch with the body and spirit underneath all that thinking. I bring a somatic approach to my work, alongside person-centred therapy, ACT, DBT, IFS, Gestalt, CBT, mindfulness, and SFBT, because everything starts in the body and the nervous system. I love working with people to help them regulate, and to trust themselves again.

I am ADHD myself. It's not a footnote. It shapes how I listen, how I pace a conversation, and why the spaces I build, physical and virtual, are made for regulated bodies, not performing ones.

Outside the therapy room, I teach Pilates and yin yoga, and I'm a friend, sister, daughter, community member, and ally. I hold this work with warmth and with rigour. You are not a problem to be solved. You are a person carrying experiences that deserve understanding.
